Jawa Mahmoud

Jawa Mahmoud is a talented and versatile drummer and pianist, currently based between Lattakia, Syria, and Dubai, UAE. With over seven years of hands-on experience in the music scene, she has built a solid reputation as a live performer, music educator, and event collaborator across genres, ranging from rock, metal, indie, and orchestral to traditional Arabic music.

A graduate of Tishreen University (2020–2024) with a Bachelor’s in Law, Jawa has balanced her academic journey alongside a thriving musical career. She has performed in numerous high-profile events, including national orchestral concerts, indie showcases, and educational music initiatives. Her appearances in concerts like “Poems” with maestro Berj Qassisse and “Childhood Nasheed” highlight her rhythmic finesse and ability to blend diverse musical styles.

Jawa’s passion extends beyond performance. With 3+ years of experience as a drum and piano instructor, she has taught in well-known music academies in Dubai and Lattakia. Her workshops at the Arabic House for Music and Arts have emphasized the essence of rhythm in both Eastern and Western music traditions, showcasing her depth as an educator.

She is also a recognized advocate for women in music, having been featured in interviews like Ugarite TV, where she discussed the evolving role of female percussionists in the Middle East’s music landscape.

Whether on stage, in the classroom, or behind the scenes of music event planning, Jawa brings creativity, technical skill, and a deep cultural understanding to every beat.
